Provident Insurance has taken delivery of a new policy administration system, Landscape, from software provider RDT.

Provident is thought to have spent 18 months researching the market before choosing RDT to provide its broker, insurer and client integration platform.

RDT managing director Mark Bates said: "Flexibility was a major consideration for Provident and we considered that a Microsoft Windows-based system would be very user friendly.

"Working with Provident's project team, we invested considerable effort to ensure that the interface provides users with easy access to the relevant information."

Provident has about 700,000 motor policies, but the new system will have capacity for nearly ten times as many, giving the insurer considerable flexibility and scope for expansion.

Provident Insurance project manager Mark Robinson said: "Technically, RDT gave us an advanced solution which represented good value for money in contrast to other solutions we researched."

Provident Insurance works through a network of 3,800 brokers and has a gross written premiums of £270m.
