’Just like our flagship home insurance products, our travel insurance is designed to be simple, clear and fair and customers can get insured in minutes,’ says chief executive
London-based insurtech Urban Jungle has partnered with specialist travel insurance provider P J Hayman and Company to launch a travel insurance product for its home cover policyholders, underwritten by Canopius.
Artificial intelligence driven Urban Jungle currently offers home insurance for renters and homeowners – the insurtech has around 300,000 policyholders for this line of business, serviced by 85 UK staff.
The launch of its travel insurance proposition, therefore, marks the insurtech’s move into becoming a multiline provider.
Its new travel product can be bought on a single trip or annual multitrip basis, covering events such as medical emergencies, cancellations, delays and lost luggage.
The proposition mirrors Urban Jungle’s home insurance offering by supplying customisable policies and ensuring there are no hidden fees when customers make changes or cancel policies.
Jimmy Williams, chief executive and co-founder at Urban Jungle, said: “Just like our flagship home insurance products, our travel insurance is designed to be simple, clear and fair and customers can get insured in minutes.
“At Urban Jungle, we’ve always had the goal of helping customers get fairer cover across a range of insurance products, so it’s fantastic to be launching travel insurance alongside P J Hayman.”

The partnership between P J Hayman and Company and Urban Jungle aims to highlight “a huge opportunity for both insurance providers, to showcase what they can create as a team”.
Peter Hayman, founder at P J Hayman and Company, added: “We are delighted to be working with Urban Jungle on this project alongside the insurance capacity provided by international accident and health underwriters, Canopius.
“Our team started with a blank canvas and, working with the Urban Jungle team, [has] created a fairly priced product that doesn’t cut corners”.
