Independent commercial broking alliance Cobra announced plans to add 30 new members by the end of the year, more than doubling its current size.

The 26 existing members of the network represent £100m in gross written premiums.

Cobra chairman Steve Burrows said he was delighted with the way the network was growing.

It aims to attract commercial brokers with premium income of £1m to £10m. Membership is free and business independence in guaranteed, said Cobra. The network also supplies assistance for compliance and training as well as IT support.
