Rob Gillies to speak at public hearing
At the request of the European Commission, Rob Gillies, head of market processes at Lloyd’s Market Association, will speak at a panel session at the Commission’s public hearing on its review of the insurance block exemption regulation.
He will participate in the panel considering standard policy conditions at the meeting which takes place in Brussels on 2 June. The purpose of the public hearing is to allow debate on the future of the IBER in the context of the Commission's preliminary findings and proposals.
Regarding Standard Policy Conditions, Gillies intends to reinforce the LMA’s position that, whilst disappointed that it appears unlikely the IBER will be renewed for this activity, the LMA is keen to work with the European Commission on developing guidance for the industry on this issue.
