Zurich has reshuffled the senior management of its global energy business unit.

Martin Clark has been promoted to head if Global Energy London, while Nick Hodges has been made international energy property director of its Zurich global energy business unit.

Clark replaces Jane Hayes who was recently appointed head of corporate underwriting for Zurich London.

Clark will have responsibility fro the development of new business opportunities, customer segmentation strategies and cross marketing within Zurich Global Energy, as well as other Zurich business units, said the company.

Clark, who was previously Clark, who previously was the claims manager for Zurich Global Energy London, will continue to manage the claims function in the United Kingdom.

He will report to Herman Nieuwenhuizen, chief marketing officer and manager of branch operations and Neil Lightbown, director of underwriting and manufacturing.

Hodges will assume responsibility for continental Europe underwriting, in addition to the management of the onshore property business written by the unit's London office. In this capacity, he will be involved in strategic development and customer support initiatives.

Hodges will also be responsible for sustaining profitable growth and maintaining underwriting integrity for the onshore property business in this region, said Zurich. He will report to Bob Pulka, senior vice president, onshore property and Martin Clark, head of Global Energy London.

Hodges was formerly a senior underwriting specialist responsible for onshore property business written by the London office

Zurich Global Energy provides risk management solutions for oil and gas, petrochemicals, natural resources, mining and power operations worldwide.

The London operation handles business produced by the London broker community.
