Wellington Underwriting Agencies Limited (WUAL) has appointed Will Curran as head of property treaty reinsurance underwriting to be written into Syndicate 2020.

Curran will lead a new reinsurance treaty team and will report directly to WUAL chief underwriting officer David Foreman.

Wellington said it expected gross written premium income of approximately £60m from the book during the 2005 year of account. Syndicate 2020 has premium income capacity of £730m for 2004.

The property treaty account will be supported by Wellington's catastrophe modelling division, policy wording and claims management teams, said the company.
