Stolen vehicle recovery company Tracker said it has expanded its European services to Spain in order to plug a "black market" for stolen vehicles.

Tracker said it had teamed up with Director to provide stolen vehicle tracking and recovery services throughout the UK, France and now Spain.

It said Spain was an ideal potential hiding place for vehicles stolen in Britain due to its proximity to the UK.

Tracker's marketing manager, Michelle Healy, said, "With Tracker working hand in hand with Detector and the Spanish Police, we hope that UK vehicle owners in Spain, whether one of the 627,000 Spanish property owners or indeed holiday makers taking a driving holiday, will feel reassured that should their pride and joy be stolen, the police will be able to track the vehicle down."
