Towergate has relaunched its PrimeLET Landlords Insurance product through its specialist home underwriter Towergate Strovers.

In addition, Towergate has completed the acquisition of more than £2m in gross written premium of let property as part of the Hill House Hammond deal, with the business to be integrated into Towergate Strovers.

PrimeLET offers benefits including cover for theft and damage by the tenant (malicious and accidental), loss of rent and a six-month policy option, said the company. The policies are underwritten by Towergate Strovers on behalf of Norwich Union.

“These latest improvements are designed to address landlords' changing insurance needs, and are further evidence of Towergate's continuing desire to offer leading products to our intermediary partners and their customers,” said Towergate Underwriting Group communications director Paul Dyer.

Towergate Strovers underwriting director Andy Westby said: “As well as giving our agents a quality product to sell and the opportunity to earn good levels of commission, we wanted to make it as easy as possible to deal with us with simple, easy to follow documentation.

“We have also introduced an online facility enabling brokers to obtain quotes and take out cover immediately.”
