Swinton Colonnade has denied that it is to close its online motor insurance portal Its4Me-insurance.co.uk.
Insurance Times was contacted by a broker claiming that a policyholder had been told that Swinton was planning to close Its4Me during June, after the policyholder contacted Its4Me in respect of a policy renewal.
The broker also alleged that policyholders were not being given bonus certificates to take on to new insurers.
Swinton chief executive Patrick Smith said there were no plans to close the site and described the rumours as "malicious".
"It's thriving," said Smith. "It moved into profit last year and is ahead of plan. It was ahead of plan all last year."
Smith also said that no changes had been made to Its4Me that could have caused the rumours.
