Faraday Underwriting Ltd and Lloyd's Football Club have given out ten £500 cheques to young people who have shown a long term commitment to sport.
The awards were the first to be given under the Sports Bursaries Scheme established and sponsored by FaradayUnderwriting and Lloyd's Football Club.
City businesses are now being urged to support the scheme to enable it to grow and provide more awards for young people next year.
The new Sports Bursaries Scheme promotes high achievement in sport in the London borough and is being run in conjunction with the Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership (THEBP).
