Saga is considering extending its operations to continental Europe after its 2003 full year results showed a steep rise in profits.

According to a report, Saga chairman Roger De Haan said the European expansion was one option under consideration for growing the business.

“France, Germany and Holland have similar demographics to the UK and we are considering rolling out a lookalike version of Saga overseas,” said De Haan.

Other options under consideration include expanding into health insurance, medical insurance and pension provision, said a report.
