Vehicle repair and motor claims specialist Norton Consulting has forged a training alliance with the Motor Vehicle Repairers' Association (MVRA).

The agreement covers Norton's recently opened national academy for the bodyshop industry, which aims to formalise non-technical training for repair staff.

The alliance was struck after an MVRA survey showed that its members desired training for management development and motivation.

Norton managing director Eddie Longworth said: “This new alliance will provide the national academy with a hugely important and influential strategic partner that has been long established within the vehicle repair industry – the MVRA.”

Mike Monaghan, the managing director of the MVRA, said the assocation would be recommending national academy membership to its more than 2,000 bodyshop members.

“We are certain that this alliance is the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship for both organisations, and one that will bring even more benefits to our repairer members,” he said. The academy now plans to develop specific training for MVRA members.
