Royal & Sun Alliance (R&SA) has announced significant changes to its main UK pension schemes.
The change will be from schemes based on final salary to ones based on average career earnings.
The company said that the changes will provide additional security and certainty to pension scheme members and reduce the group's UK pension fund deficit by approximately £180m gross of tax.
