R&SA rolls out a series of leaflets aimed at reducing household claims
Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) will roll out the first in a series of leaflets aimed at reducing household claims. This will be launched at this week's Biba conference.
Delegates will have a chance to view Subsidence and heave, a document that will be targeted at existing and new policyholders who live within high-risk subsidence areas.
R&SA underwriting director Colin Short said: "The idea is that we can offer the customer advice through these leaflets. They can contact us and we can get someone out to see them if the problem merits it."
The insurer plans to follow up the Subsidence and heave leaflet with one on flooding. Both documents will be targeted at high-risk areas pinpointed by the use of the company's risk mapping system, covering both subsidence and flooding.
The process of active risk management could be extended to monitoring crime rates. The insurer could then contact policyholders in areas experiencing a crime wave advising on the risk and what they can do to mitigate it.
R&SA said this initiative would improve the service for its MoreTh>n customers.
Short said: "This is part of the MoreTh>n proposition that we will give customers more than a bit of paper."
The insurer plans to roll out the rest of the leaflets together with the backup service during the summer.
