Public bodies are increasingly exposed to types and levels of risk that they have not had to consider before, according to Marsh.
Marsh's European Public Entities Practice Leader, Philippe Auzimour, said: “Public entities today face increasing forms of governance, new legislation on crisis management and business continuity planning, modernising agendas, and public/private finance initiatives, which all present different types of risk.”
Marsh will be discussing these and related issues at the UDITE Congress in Malta, a congress that brings together over 300 CEOs, politicians and civil servants from across Europe to discuss risk.
The congress, entitled ‘Efficiency in Local Government', will also see the ratification of PRIMO Europe's (Public Risk Management Organisation) statutes.
PRIMO, which is supported by Marsh, was founded to raise awareness of risk management in the public sector across Europe.
