Oxygen has shifted its business model to take on an underwriting agency in tandem with its six broking teams.
Former Hiscox managing director Sian Fisher will head the underwriting business and is developing its UK specialist agency business. Oxygen has also attracted former Lloyd's chief executive Ron Sandler as its non-executive chairman.
Oxygen is the brainchild of ex-Faraday chief executive Nigel Barton.
He said: "We decided to launch an agency after clients asked us if we were prepared to take on specialist risks. We are still looking at six broking teams specialising in niche markets on personal lines and liability.
"Sian still has great relations with Hiscox and the London market is a small village so I imagine she will want to keep good contacts in her specialist areas. Ron gives us a broader spectrum of skills from his banking and derivatives experience."
Barton added that both Fisher and Sandler had become equity partners in the firm.
