Withers has entered the subsidence market with its withers.net initiative, developed in partnership with Bearing Foundations and Acorn Foundation Engineering, it said.

It said the initiative would provide insurers with access to a national network of repair companies offering subsidence solutions.

The network would use an internet-based central hub system to coordinate service provision, said Withers. The three founder companies, plus contractor Falcon Foundations, are members of the ASUC Plus trade association.

Withers said password-protected customer files would be held centrally on the web, providing clients with round-the-clock access to their files, as well as monthly reporting on the status of a claim.

Withers managing director Robert Withers said: “Member companies offering repair solutions such as underpinning and overpinning have to meet stringent capacity, service delivery, health and safety, technical and financial criteria.

“Once signed up to withers.net they agree postcode areas and/or disciplines to work within. This ensures a nationally delivered service utilising local knowledge.”
