Norwich Union is to add private motor new business functions to its online trading platform for brokers.

It said it had launched a pilot for new business policy administration for private car, motorcycles and vans. It said this would be added to the mid-term adjustment capability already offered through its electronic platform.

NU said the move formed part of the development of its e-broking website.

Brokers will be able to access a secure link in to NU’s mainframe administration system to obtain quotations confirm new business, make mid-term adjustments, check policy status and issue documentation from their own offices, said NU.

Chris Betts, e-propositions manager at Norwich Union said: “It’s a self service option which puts brokers very much in control of their customer documentation and offers savings in admin time and costs.

“The on-line capability provided via the e-broking website supplements the increasing range of full cycle EDI products which Norwich Union offers via software houses.”
