NIG has launched an integrated engineering breakdown cover designed to eliminate potential gaps in insurance cover between property and engineering policies. The new policy will be available for the UK motor trade, retail and office sectors.
It said the inclusive cover would eliminate the gaps, and concerns about the difference in conditions that occur from separate property and engineering covers would be ended.
NIG said comprehensive cover was essential to cover growing exposure to failing machinery and electronic equipment for modern businesses.
A similar policy was successfully pioneered in the US by HSB (Hartford Steam Boiler)
