’Working with such an established company and a new team is exciting,’ says appointee

MGA Folgate Underwriting has appointed Craig Miller as its new liability chief underwriting officer.

In his new role, Miller will take charge of the liability portfolio and be responsible for overseeing the development and growth of new and existing product strategies.

He will also work closely with Chris Page, who currently serves as head of liability.

His appointment comes after Hadron’s acquisition of Folgate Insurance in February 2024.

As part of the deal, Folgate Insurance’s service company was rebranded from Anglo Pacific Consultants to Folgate Underwriting in August 2024.

Speaking about joining the company, Miller said: “Working with such an established company and a new team is exciting, not to mention new relationships with our existing broker community.

“We will continue to provide a first class, efficient service with added value to our loyal customers.”

Experience

Miller has 20 years’ experience in the UK and Irish liability and construction sector.

He joins from Dual Oliva, where he was most recently UK commercial director.

Before this, he served as a construction underwriter at Thames Underwriting.

In his new position at Folgate Underwriting, he will report to chief executive Ian Russell.

Russell said: “Miller has a very impressive track record and demonstrates an exceptional depth of knowledge and insight within the UK construction sector.

“His role as liability chief underwriting officer will be a pivotal part in delivering our strategic plans.”
