The new proposition signals a ’moving away from the standard one-size-fits all approach’, says chief executive
Managing general agent (MGA) Gigasure has launched a new personalised travel insurance add on that allows customers to customise their policies when on the move.
Called Gigasure Boosts, the add on allows policyholders to tailor their policies to suit itinerary and budgets whenever they need to.
It can be added to the policy post-purchase through the Gigasure app and will apply to travel and backpacker policies.
Ernesto Suarez, chief executive at Gigasure, said: “Travel is all about experiencing new things.
“Our goal is to give travellers the confidence to embrace spontaneity without breaking the bank.
”Through the app, our boost features offer the flexibility and peace of mind needed for unforgettable journeys.”
Temporary boosts
The proposition came into response to findings, such as Booking.com’s forward looking Travel Predictions 2024 report (published October 2023), which revealed that 54% of travellers make changes to their itinerary while travelling.

Gigasure also allows policyholders to add temporary boosts, meaning that travellers can add specific cover only for the period needed.
Suarez added: “Gigasure exists to provide travel insurance that puts customers at the core. We have made insurance simple, convenient and completely transparent.
“With that comes much better value for money as you only pay for what you need through the customised approach.
”This is a new era for insurance, giving consumers complete control over their insurance, putting the power in their hands and moving away from the standard one size fits all approach.”
