’Thanks to everyone for joining us on this journey, but we’re putting the brakes on the Caha app,’ says firm

Direct Line Group (DLG)-owned application Caha will close down next month.

The motor ownership app was launched by DLG in September 2023 and was made available on the Apple and Google Play stores.

Its goal was to streamline car management and usership, while offering UK drivers a car management platform and app alongside an opportunity to engage with DLG.

However, less than a year after going live, Caha said it was “putting the brakes” on and that the app would stop working as of 23 June 2024.

“Thanks to everyone for joining us on this journey, but we’re putting the brakes on the Caha app,” a statement on its website said.

“This wasn’t an easy decision to make and we’re sorry to those that rely on Caha for their day-to-day car management.”

‘Opportunity’

DLG said it was motivated to create the app after it noticed the “disjointed car management experience for many UK drivers”.

The insurer said it aimed to have Caha available to all DLG motor customers in 2024 in a move to offer a ”digital alternative” to call centres and its website.

While the app will shut down, however, Caha said that it was “still rolling out Fixbox locations across the country for speedy car repairs”.

And it also said its team’s attention was now on a “new exciting opportunity coming soon”.

“Our vision of simplifying car ownership remains and the learnings from this app will live on in other exciting apps,” Caha said.
