Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has launched a cargo liability policy for its large freight and logistics clients.

R&SA said the policy, called Logistics Solutions, was designed to provide cover for a range of customers including third party logistics operators, road hauliers, parcel carriers and warehouse keepers.

It has been designed to specifically reflect the needs of the larger operators in these and similar sectors, and is one of the only policies on the market that caters for ‘added value services’ such as labelling and sub-assembly, said the insurer.

Logistics Solutions forms part of R&SA’s proposition for major freight clients and is managed by a dedicated team. R&SA said the major freight offering had been developed to meet the broker requirements of tailored products, expert knowledge of the sector and responsive service.

R&SA transit underwriting manager Andrew Peers, said: “Logistics Solutions is a responsive policy designed to provide an insurance solution for clients who face increasingly demanding customers. In particular, the inclusion of cover for ‘added value services’ sets this policy apart from the competition.

The insurer has written goods in transit cover since 1913.
