Intermediary-only insurer MMA Insurance is to extend the locations in which it insures commercial properties. It said the move would make its products available to a wider market.
Commercial manager Ian Page said: " "We are now in a position to insure properties located in what previously may have been seen as less favourable areas.
"Rather than simply avoiding high-risk city centres, we have looked carefully at the data we have and taken a more flexible approach.
"Essentially this has involved a review of the postcode areas we underwrite with a favourable re-rating of over 1,000."
The company also recently launched online quotes for brokers via its website. The site can also be used to print cover notes for its commercial property products, said MMA.
