Intermediary-only insurer MMA Insurance has introduced rate reductions and simplified product literature for its single trip travel insurance product Flagship.

The changes, which MMA said would make the sale process easier and more competitive for brokers, came into effect on 1 April 2004.

The lowers rates have been introduced for travel to France, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Austria. Lower rates for travellers aged 65 and over in the UK have also been introduced.

Under the changes, brokers will no longer have to complete proposal forms and the old style policy pad has been replaced with a policy booklet and schedule pad, said MMA.

MMA household and travel underwriting manager Jane Coppard, said: “The lower rates in selected European destinations will make MMA particularly competitive in these areas.

“Brokers have provided us with valuable feedback on our product offering and position in the market. This has enabled us to make improvements that will bring benefits to brokers and clients alike.
