James Hampden Insurance Brokers (JHIB) has bought Dragoon Insurance Services (DIS).
Simon Hall, the chief executive of JHIB, said: “The joining of DIS with JHIB will considerably enhance our retail business and help make us a significant player in the East Midlands insurance market. We are an ambitious group who are keen to grow either through acquisition or generically when the opportunity arises and the addition of DIS to the JHIB group together with some other current initiatives is a significant part of this plan.”
Edward Winiarski, managing director of Nottingham-based DIS, commented: “The joining of our businesses was a logical step and provides us with the resources to expand our business within a larger Lloyd's broking group who not only have a local presence in Ashby de la Zouch but also an office in London in the heart of the insurance market. The combined financial strength and resources that will be available to us give our staff an exciting and challenging future.”
