The International Group of P&I Clubs elected Alistair Groom as it chairman. Groom will replace Stephen James who has finished a three-year term.
Groom is deputy chairman of Charles Taylor Consulting, which manages the Standard P&I Club, and chief executive of Charles Taylor's P&I operations.
James is chairman of Thomas Miller P&I, managers of the UK P&I Club.
