Heath Lambert and i-mob have launched a vehicle protection and car insurance product, called i-nsure.

As part of the package, i-mob security and safety systems continuously monitor a vehicle, and will alert the owner of the vehicle if it is stolen, driven away following the theft of keys, or is involved in a serious accident.

The system also allows the owner to both track and remotely immobilise the vehicle, said i-mob, as well as including anti hi-jack and SOS technology.

Heath Lambert said it will provide an information and quotation facility for i-nsure via the i-mob insurance services call centre.

Heath Lambert Group director Julian Wakeling said: “We are delighted to be the first company to offer this bespoke insurance service linked to state-of-the-art vehicle security technology.

“So effective is i-mob, compared to simple tracking devices, and so significant is the reduction in insured risk, that we aim to pass on to customers additional savings of between 15%-20%.”

I-mob commercial director Martin Gray said: “Convenience is boosted because an i-nsure telephone quote includes the cost of the i-mob system fitted at your home or office. And, because the i-mob system is leased, there's no large up-front payment.

“A quote for insurance is meaningless without also knowing the cost of the required security system.

"A one-stop-shop, the i-nsure call centre dispenses with that infuriating and time-consuming task of chasing down another quote for a suitable security system, along with the inconvenience of dropping off the vehicle for installation.”

Heath Lambert said it was already in advanced discussions with the UK and European insurance markets to extend i-nsure to include motorcycles, commercial vehicles, boats, plants and machinery.
