Groupama has completed the first phase of the integration of its two healthcare businesses.

Following the acquisition of specialist health insurer Clinicare from Groupe AZUR-GMF in October 2005, all new business will now be traded on an integrated basis as Groupama Healthcare from its new Letchworth Healthcare Centre.

The Clinicare brand is being phased out and the Groupama Healthcare brand will start to appear on products and documentation received by intermediaries and policyholders.

Alistair Sclare, head of Healthcare Underwriting at Groupama Healthcare said: “We have now completed the first phase of the integration of Clinicare and are right on schedule to complete this process by late May.

“The existing Groupama Healthcare policies will be unaffected for the moment and we do not plan to update them until we are ready to launch a brand new PMI product later in the year as part of Phase 2 of the integration project.”

Phase 2 will also include the completion of the legal process to formally transfer the business portfolio from Clinicare Limited to Groupama Insurance Company.
