Former AIG chief to outline alternative rescue for insurer.
Hank Greenberg, former chief executive AIG, is set to outline an alternative plan following the US government’s rescue of the troubled insurer.
Greenberg, who has tried to buy parts of the group, was expected to file a proposal with securities regulators as early as yesterday, according to a report in the Financial Times. The details were not clear, but were expected to involve changes to how the $85bn government loan was handled.
