Windsor-based foreign exchange specialist HIFX has opened an insurance division to provide consumers with insurance products for overseas properties.

The company said Lloyd's would underwrite all HIFX Insure policies.

The comprehensive policies have been designed to meet the travel insurance and property needs for those purchasing second or permanent residence homes abroad, it said. The range of products covers title, building, contents and travel risks.

HFIX Insure director Les Jacobs said: “Our policies have been written and tailored to specifically meet the often complex insurance needs of customers wishing to purchase a property abroad.”

The company claims it is the only foreign exchange broker to offer a dedicated internal insurance service to its customers.
