Equity has purchased Holdsure, an insurer based in Carrickfergus, from Berkshire Hathaway.
This follows Equity's acquisition of Belfast broker Open + Direct (ODIS) last week.
Keith Charlton, Equity joint active underwriter, said: "The Holdsure purchase allows the group greater access to additional Northern Ireland business through Equity Red Star, our underwriting division."
Equity is retaining Holdsure's employees.
David Ussher, Holdsure underwriting manager, added: "The support from Equity will allow this business to grow far more rapidly than expected and will ensure, particularly in an increasingly competitive market, we can maintain the quality service our brokers have come to expect."
