Law firm predicts the app will be vital to handling their personal injury cases
Manchester-based Croftons Solicitors have launched an iPhone app to help claimants collect accurate information after an accident at work or on the road.
The Accident App is designed to improve evidence gathering and provide easy access to personal injury lawyers. The app allows users to record the immediate details of an incident with photographs, words or recorded statements.
GPS technology automatically pin-points the location of the incident, the iPhone camera can take photos of the scene and any damage or injuries caused, while the voice recorder can log eyewitness accounts.
Users are also provided with onscreen prompts so that only relevant information is captured.
A Croftons spokesman expected the app to become vital to managing the firm's future personal injury cases, and planned to make the app available across other smartphones and portable devices.
Croftons managing partner Simon Leighton said: “It is the perfect channel for data capture because accidents tend to happen when you are on the move and these days people tend not to move without their mobile phone.
“Once they’ve got the story down, users can then consider what to do with it, including the opportunity to forward the information to us for a quick and informed assessment of the claim.”
