NIG has revealed the departure of a second senior figure from its commercial lines division in two months.
On Friday the insurer announced that Lyn Carslake, director of commercial lines, was to leave the company.
The news follows September's shock departure of Charles Earle, NIG's managing director of commercial lines. At the time, no explanation was given as to the circumstances surrounding Earle's decision to leave.
In contrast, Carslake's departure comes as no surprise. In July, rumours surfaced that he was set to leave the company, which NIG vigorously denied claiming he was "on holiday".
NIG is currently undergoing a wholesale restructure of its commercial and personal lines divisions that will see the two merge.
NIG would not confirm when the final details of the reorganisation would be announced. It said they would be made public in the "near future".
In a statement NIG said succession plans were in place to ensure that Carslake's departure would "not lead to any disruption of services in the commercial business area".
