New service assesses client risks
Independent broker network BrokersLink has launched a new supply chain risk management service at its fourth annual global conference in Madrid, Spain.
BrokersLink Specialized Resources will provide members with access to tools that will help their clients clearly identify and quantify the various potential risks to their supply chains.
These tools include two questionnaires specifically developed to reliably assess supply chain risk preparedness. Both enable the broker and their client to understand the critical thought process needed to identify and manage their ‘pain points’.
The product was created by AIR Worldwide (catastrophe risk), BDO Consulting (claims management), Herco and Paragon (risk engineering), Risk Solutions International (business continuity), Towers Watson (human resources and risk management), Cooper Gay (reinsurance broker), and Crystal & Company (retail broker).
AIR Worldwide catastrophe risk engineering manager Andrew Kao said: “As we have seen in recent years, natural catastrophes like the Icelandic volcano and the Thailand floods can have a severe impact on not only the economies and businesses of those countries, but also have devastating effects on global supply chains.
“In addition to natural catastrophes, supply chains are also exposed to many other risks which can severely impact an individual organisation’s supply chain. By launching our joint global supply chain risk offering we intend to provide BrokersLink members with the specialist tools and capabilities they need to help their clients shed light on the various risks to their supply chains.”
BrokersLink chairman José Fonseca said: “Supply chain risk management is a vital and ever increasing element of the service provided by our members to their client in all parts of the world. By leveraging our Specialized Resource members, each a renowned expert in their own field, BrokersLink will continue to lead the development and delivery of risk management best practice.”
