Blond-haired drivers are more considerate but redheads the worst, revealed a study for Australian insurance company Suncorp.
According to a report, the survey of 500 drivers found fair-haired men and women to be calmer and more considerate drivers with a better grasp of driving regulations. They are the least likely to crash or provoke road rage.
The study found that 56% of fair-haired drivers had been in accidents, compared with 62% of redheads. It also found that every redhead in the survey had experienced road rage, compared with just over a third of fair-haired drivers.
The Suncorp survey asked drivers of all ages if they had been in an accident, how they rated their driving ability and whether they had been the target of road rage of felt it towards others.
According to the report, Suncorp reassured its red-haired customers that it had no intention of setting premiums in line with hair colour.
