AXA has cancelled the agencies of 100 small brokers who will not be FSA authorised on 14 January 2005.
AXA head of broker relations Colin Calder confirmed the insurer had written to brokers informing them that their agencies had been cancelled.
"We now have a clear picture of who is going to be authorised by the FSA."
Last week AXA wrote to 200 brokers threatening to cancel their agency agreements if they did not supply evidence that they would be FSA authorised.
Meanwhile, the ABI is calling on the FSA to take a "pragmatic and flexible approach" to the problems insurers are having in determining whether their brokers are authorised. The issue is pressing as insurers are working on January 2005 renewals.
