The first Lloyd's syndicate to specialise in amateur sports has been launched today by Sportscover.
The new syndicate 3334 will offer a broad range of amateur sports insurance products including Personal Accident, Public Liability, Property and Contingency Insurances for Sporting Clubs and Associations.
Active Underwriter of the Sportscover Syndicate, Peter Nash said: “There is an increasing need for quality sporting insurance with over 20 million sporting injuries occurring in the UK alone each year. We offer quality insurance solutions to brokers and clients worldwide to reduce the impact of these injuries on sports men and women.
“The ability to write with Lloyd's A rated security is a huge advantage and will allow the Sportscover group of companies to achieve significant growth in the coming years.”
The Syndicate started accepting business on 14 August 2006 with Argenta Syndicate Management Ltd as Managing Agent.
Sportscover Australia & Sportscover UK are to operate as the trading arms of Sportscover Syndicate 3334.
