Allianz Cornhill has launched an initiative to raise awareness of the effects of whiplash and inform policyholders of the simple preventative measures that can be taken to avoid the risk.

Roger Ball, commercial motor manager, said: “Whiplash is an industry wide issue. Insurers and road safety campaigners should be concerned at the lack of knowledge motorists have when it comes to preventative measures."

It is estimated that whiplash claims currently cost the industry around £1.25bn every year.

Bob Rabbitts, technical claims manager, added: “Whiplash costs businesses millions through lost working hours, whereas preventative measures are very simple and cost nothing”.
