Counsel Anastasia Kelly could be gone by Christmas
AIG’s general counsel Anastasia Kelly, who threatened to quit over Pay czar-imposed pay limits, may quit this month because AIG hasn’t sought to keep her, Bloomberg reports.
Michael Leahy, a lawyer who works at AIG’s New York headquarters, is among candidates being considered to succeed Kelly.
Kelly hired Washington-based law firm Dickstein Shapiro to represent her and four AIG managers concerned that pay czar Kenneth Feinberg would impose limits on severance pay, Bloomberg claims.
Five threaten to quit
The five executives who threatened to quit are Kelly; Rodney Martin, who heads a non-US life unit; William Dooley, a senior vice president in charge of the financial- products division; Nicholas Walsh, head of the non-US property casualty operations, and John Doyle, who is in charge of the US property casualty unit.
Walsh and Doyle withdrew their threats, the Wall Street Journal said this week.
