InsurE-com and Acturis have confirmed they are to end their services agreement on the integration of insurE-com’s personal lines rating engine, as revealed by Insurance Times on 26 February.

The agreement will cease on 28 October 2004, announced insurE-com.

The original agreement in April 2002 allows Acturis brokers to access comparative quotations for personal lines insurance products, including household and motor, direct from insurE-com’s panel of leading UK insurers.

InsurE-com chief executive Jim McGuinness, said: “This agreement was entered into at a time when both companies had different strategic goals, with both companies using modern technologies to improve the way the insurance industry operated.

“Over time, those goals have become more aligned and as such, an agreement is no longer appropriate.

“We have enjoyed a harmonious working relationship over the past couple of years and both parties have the highest level of respect for each other. It is therefore with regret that changes in our strategic goals have resulted in these circumstances.
