Marsh & McLennan, the world's largest insurance broker, has confirmed that it is to cut a further 750 jobs as part of its ongoing restructuring programme. Marsh and Mercer Human Resource Consulting are expected to bear the brunt of the job losses.

The move forms part of a long-running efficiency strategy which has seen the broker lay off over 5,000 staff members since November 2004 in a drive to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

The latest round of job cuts are part of a $350m cost-cutting plan, set to be achieved by the end of 2008.
