The IUA-ABI Rehabilitation Working Party is to review the Rehabilitation Code of Best Practice.
As part of the process it is inviting comments from industry figures including insurance and legal practitioners, and others with an interest.
The Code is a voluntary document that provides a framework within which insurers and claimant lawyers can embark by mutual agreement on rehabilitation treatment for accident victims.
It first appeared in October 1999 as part of the Second UK Bodily Injury Awards Study.
The Code is supported by several organisations, including the IUA (International Underwriting Association), ABI (Association of British Insurers), APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers), FOIL (Forum of Insurance Lawyers) and MASS (Motor Accident Solicitors' Society).
The working party's chairman Eamon Brown said: "When we published the Code we promised to review the wording after a few years, and this is exactly what we are doing. We would positively encourage market practitioners with views on the subject to contact us."
The deadline for comment is 7 September.
