Chris Burns to lead broker's Global Employee Benefits Practice.
Willis has announced the appointment of Christopher R. Burns as chief executive of its Global Employee Benefits Practice.
Burns, based in New York, is tasked with the strategic growth and operational oversight of the practice, reporting to Allan Gribben, global sales & marketing director.
Willis’ Global Employee Benefits Practice spans more than 70 countries and includes a team of over 2,200 Willis Associates.
Burns was previously senior vice president of Multinational Employee Benefits at Willis, charged with providing strategic direction and hands-on leadership of the Global Multinational team to develop new business with leading companies worldwide.
Prior to joining Willis in 2006, Burns was a principal at Mercer. In addition, he spent more than 12 years in several senior international employee benefit positions with AIG and Cigna, including appointments in Greece, Brazil and London. Currently, Burns also serves on the board of directors of the National Foreign Trade Council.
