Groupama and Park Row Associates have teamed up with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to launch an insurance package for heart patients.
This will come as welcome news to many patients who have faced problems obtaining cover in the past.
The package includes motor insurance administered by the Touchline Services panel of insurers. Touchline will not impose exclusions for heart disease-related medical conditions, provided the DVLA has been notified.
Life assurance and pensions advice will be provided by financial advisor Park Row Associates.
The insurance was constructed for the BHF following research by insurance consultancy IMCG into the difficulties being faced by heart patients.
IMCG's managing director commented on the research: "The BHF gets a lot of enquiries from patients experiencing difficulties relating to insurance. Most insurers do not cater for the special insurance needs of the thousands of people living with heart disease."
The BHF said that the insurance package is likely to be particularly helpful for those with severe heart disease.
