The Vehicle Tail Lift Repairer Group has become a division of the Vehicle Builders and Repairers Association (VBRA).
VBRA director-general Ron Nicholson said the association welcomed the repairers' decision.
"This will, without doubt, provide this specialist group with recognition and a higher profile within the industry," he said. "It will also offer a solid platform for them to work from."
