Tradex Insurance Company Ltd has launched an automatic texting facility to allow customers to add and delete vehicles from their policy in seconds.

The ‘Trade Check' service updates the Motor Insurance Database, fulfilling the legal requirements of both the policyholder and Tradex, the company announced.

It said this will help traders cut back on administration time and phone-calls each time they register or delete a new car to or from their existing policy.

Roy Clegg, founder and CEO of Tradex, said: “Last month, the Motor Insurance Bureau reported that 3,000 UK fleet and motor traders will face hefty fines after failing to supply their vehicle details to the Motor Insurance Database. In just over a week since Trade Check was launched, Tradex has reported a 15 per cent uptake for the new service from their existing 25,000 motor trade policy holders and numbers are still increasing.”

Trade Check can also be used to look up the authenticity and history of any vehicle.
