New role to focus on expanding business proposition
Select & Protect, one of the leading providers of general insurance through financial intermediaries, has appointed Paul Firkins as head of sales.
Firkins was previously with Equity Insurance Group, where he was responsible for developing and bringing to market ‘first4cover’, a general insurance platform aimed at the mortgage lender and intermediary market.
His role prior to this was divisional director at Heath Lambert Insurance Services.
Bruce Reid, managing director of Select & Protect, commented: "Paul has 18 years' insurance experience, many within the personal lines industry and specifically within the mortgage lender and intermediary market.
"His appointment demonstrates our continued focus to develop and expand our proposition further.
Reid added: "Paul will also be responsible for assessing opportunities in new markets as our sales proposition grows.
"He has a wide knowledge of the insurance and financial sector and his varied experience makes him ideally suited to our business plans for the future.

There are currently more than 5,500 financial intermediaries with Select & Protect agencies.
