HCC Insurance Holdings said Standard & Poor's had affirmed its AA (very strong) counterparty credit and financial strength ratings.
HCC Insurance Holdings includes Houston casualty, HCC Speciality Insurance Company and HCC Europe, among others.
Chairman and chief executive Stephen Way said: “We have been able to keep this very strong rating and still achieve better than 14% return on equity over the past ten years.”
