Standard & Poor's has affirmed the A long-term counterparty credit and insurer financial strength ratings for Aspen Insurance UK, and Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance. Both ratings have a stable outlook.
The two wholly owned subsidiaries are the main operating entities of Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance holdings.
Standard & Poor's credit analyst Marcus Rivaldi said: "The ratings reflect the Aspen group's strong business position, very strong operating performance, proven management team, and very strong capitalisation."
He added: "These factors are partially offset by the potential volatility inherent in the classes of business on which the group focuses, and the need to maintain underwriting discipline, particularly given the increasing importance of new lines of business."
